Hocking Valley Scenic Railway
Tell a Friend
You are purchasing a Hocking Valley Scenic Railway family pass for two adults and two children (up to the age of 12) to ride the Hocking Valley Railway and stop at Robbins Crossing historic log village on any regular trip.
Take a historic train ride on our family-friendly railroad. Enjoy a narrated ride in a vintage 1920s coach, a 1970 heavy-weight coach or an open air car. See a canal lock. Travel to the last company town in Ohio. Stop at Robbins Crossing, an 1840s pioneer log village. Your visit to the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway can be part of a great family getaway weekend in the beautiful Hocking Hills. Our non-profit, volunteer-run railroad is located in Nelsonville between Logan and Athens on SR 33.
The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a non-profit railroad. Its mission is the preservation, restoration and operation of historic railroad equipment for the education and entertainment of the general public. All trains are run by volunteers who are members of the railway.
Founded in 1972, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway offers diesel-powered rides aboard vintage equipment. Take a leisurely ride back in time along the Hocking River and through the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio. Choose between seating in our 1920s commuter coaches, open air cars (weather permitting), 1940 air-conditioned B&O coach or an air-conditioned bi-level car built in 1970. Our primary diesel locomotive, GP7 No. 5833, was built in October of 1952.
The route we operate over, between Nelsonville and Logan, was once a part of the original Hocking Valley Railway's Athens Branch. The railway merged into the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway in 1930. The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway was able to purchase the current route in 1985, as C&O sold off some of its less-used track.
***Good for train ride only. Does not include special trains such as robbery, caboose, Easter, Santa, North Pole, New Year's Eve. No Cash Value*****
